Account Management - Reset Your Clark University Password

Before You Start

Please connect to VPN if you are trying to reset your password off-campus.

Changing vs Forgetting

If you remember your old password and need to change it for security reasons, or because the password is expiring, please change your Clark password here.

If you do not remember your old password, please follow the below instructions to reset it.

Register for SSPR

To reset your own password, you will need to register for Self-Service Password Reset. If you have not already done so, you will need to contact the Help Desk if you’ve forgotten your password.

To register for SSPR, you must add an additional contact method/factor to your Clark account.

ITS strongly recommends using the Microsoft Authenticator app as a factor for your account if possible.

You will also need to add an additional authentication factor, such as a phone number.

Reset Your Clark Password

  1. In your internet browser, navigate to https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/

  2. Enter your Clark email address and complete CAPTCHA.

  3. Select a verification method.

  1. Approve the sign-in with your selected method.

    1. If you’re using Microsoft Authenticator, enter the code displayed in the web browser into the app.

    2. If you’re using a phone number, enter the phone number associated with your account to receive a code. Then, enter the code you received on your phone into the appropriate field in the web browser.

  2. Once you approve access via the first authentication method, you will be asked to authenticate a second time with a different factor.

  1. Once you have successfully verified with two different factors, you will be prompted to create a new password.

  2. Click Finish.

  3. Log into your Clark account with your new password.

  4. If you are working off-campus, reconnect to VPN.

Please note it may take 5-10 minutes for your new password to take effect.

After you change your password, you may need to update it in other applications on your non-Clark devices. For example, if your personal cell phone is connected to Clark WiFi, you will likely have to reconnect. These prompts will usually appear in Outlook, Office 365 apps, and Adobe.
