How to Upload a Zoom Recording to Kaltura
Kaltura has several options for recording. However, there may be instances when you would prefer to record a presentation using Zoom. For example, if you are recording a meeting with multiple participants, or if you are simply more comfortable using Zoom to share content.
To move your recorded Zoom meetings to Kaltura, you’ll use the Upload option in Kaltura to upload your recording.
Step 1: Download Your Zoom Meeting
When you record your meeting in Zoom, make sure to choose the Record to the Cloud option.
Once the recording has finished processing, you’ll receive a message from Zoom that the recording is ready
Log into http://clarku.zoom.us using your Clark account (sign in using the SSO domain “clarku”)
Click on Recordings & Transcripts
Click on your recording
Hover your mouse next to the preferred output and click the download icon:
Step 2: Upload Your File to Kaltura
Option A: Directly with Kaltura
Log in to Kaltura at https://mediaspace.clarku.edu/
Click the red Create button in the top right
Click Upload
Click Select Files
Find the recording in your Downloads folder and click Open
Update details if needed, then click Save
Option B: Via Canvas
There are several options for uploading your recording to Kaltura in Canvas, depending on whether you are adding it to your My Media gallery or directly to an Activity, Page, or Announcement.
To add it to your My Media:
Click on Kaltura My Media in the Canvas navigation menu
Click the blue Add New button in the upper right
Click Media Upload
Click Choose a File
Find the recording in your Downloads folder and click Open
Update details if needed, then click Save
To add it to an Activity, Page, or Announcement:
In edit mode, click the Kaltura icon from the editing menu
Select Upload Media
Click Choose a File
Find the recording in your Downloads folder and click Open
Once the upload has processed, click Embed
Update details if needed, then click Publish
