All computers have a unique numerical identifier called a MAC address that lets computer networks direct data traffic to the correct computer. This information is useful to have for troubleshooting purposes, particularly for issues relating to WiFi connection.

Instructions

  1. Click on the Apple icon in the top left corner of your screen and select System Settings.

  2. In the left pane of the System Settings window, click Network.

  3. Click Wi-Fi.

  4. Scroll down in the right pane and click Advanced…

  5. Your MAC address will be displayed. The address is usually a combination of numbers and letters with colons.
